Maybe the title of this photo does sound strange, but Russians and one's family nations celebrate today Old New Year.
Sometimes foreigners call this holiday as Russian New Year.
Old New Year it is just meta phrase from Russian Старый Новый год.
It is celebrated because Russia has changed official calendar from Julian to Gregorian less than 100 years ago.
So, many Russian people, including those who live in Riga, celebrate New Year twice, by Gregorian and by Julian calendar.
