Lauksaimniecības mašīnu rūpnīca (Agricultural Machinery Factory) had being closed down since Soviet Union collapse.
Now is being demolished part by part, building by building.

In my job I have come across Soviet period documents marked as classified, which list this "agricultural machinery factory" as a tank repair plant, actually. Though I remember seeing some agricultural machinery in the yard there (as a cover-up, maybe?) in old times.
Tank repair plant nearly in the center of a capital does not make much sense to me, but so does not an "agricultural machinery factory" either.
Soviets were well known for irrationality of their decisions. That's why they are gone now, hopefully for good, unless KGB crooks in Kremlin have other plans.
