Midsummer Night

Tonight is the Midsummer night, which locally called as Ligo or Jani in Latvia.
Midsummer is remarkable because it has the shortest night in a year, which lasts for about 4 hours only.
Due Riga high latitude, there is no absolutely black nights during the middle of the summer.
This picture is taken towards North pole at 1:30 o'clock in the night

Lovely photo! It must be strange to be without darkness in the middle of the night.
Awesome shot! This red in the horizon is just amazing!
5*!!!!
Wow! I love extremely short nights. Too bad that because of that, you'd also have long nights in winter.
I so wish i was there right now, the party's are awesome and everything is so nice these days.. :(
so in a big city like this, were would you look for 'fern flowers'?
@ angella, in the night club :)
in fact, the city is not that big :) Just 30 minutes by car and you are in deep country side already.
This is so fascinating to me! Since we're so near the equator, we never have short nights or nights with daylight!
I love city lights at night. Riga looks like it sleeps very late. So many lights still on!
