The second performance of Metallica in Riga was finished few hours ago, this time in Arena Riga. I was witness of amazing performance of James Hetfield and his band.
Unfortunately the indoor arena isn't very suitable for that kind of music, and the quality of sound was relatively low.
Yesterday Italian pop singer Eros Ramazzotti held finally a single concert in Arena Riga. It was an unique and a very long-awaited performance, because of postponing since November 2009. Close-up photo was taken by Irene.
I guess this season's last game of Dinamo Riga at home was finished some minutes ago. Dinamo managed to get into KHL Play-off and won the strongest team SKA Saint Petersburg in eighth-finals. In quarter-finals we faced MVD Balashikha, and the current series' score is 1:3, which means nearly end for us. In any case it was a brilliant season for Riga Dinamo. Arēna Rīga (Arena Riga) is the biggest indoor venue in Riga. The total capacity is 15,000 visitors. It was built in 2006 as main arena for Ice Hockey World Championship. Now it is permanent home for several hockey and basketball teams, including Riga Dinamo, ASK Riga, Barons LMT. It also the main arena for huge concerts and music events like Sensation White.

Yesterday Rigans were fascinated by Lenny Kravitz performance in Arena Riga. Despite being late for more than one hour, it was one of the best shows what Riga has ever seen. Lenny Kravitz is not only overly talented, he is also one of those few artists who is a walking charisma on stage; by the middle of the show even our cold Baltic people were so heated up, it was crazy. Lenny instantly connects with the audience, he let people to follow his 2-hour journey on stage called Love Revolution.
Sensation White is the one of the biggest music events globally. Yesterday it was held in Arena Riga. Sensation gathered 15,000 of House and Trance music fans, so it became the biggest indoor dance event in the whole Baltic States. People from neighbour countries came to Riga to watch amazing performance by world famous DJs like David Guetta, Markus Schulz, Fedde LeGrand and others. Fantastic show using fire, water and lasers, beautiful girls, many friendly people and loud music made Sensation White highly astonishing.
Few days ago legendary band Kiss visited Riga during their KISS Alive/35 World Tour. New York based group has never appeared in Riga before. So, on May 22 Riga public first time witnessed amazing show featured things such as Simmons spitting blood or breathing fire. After Riga, Kiss went on a tour in Russia, visiting Moscow and then Saint-Petersburg.
