Staro in Latvian means Shine. Staro Riga is the name of annual light festival which was held 18-22 November.

Le Paon Bleu (Indian Peafowl) is the name of recently opened bohemian French restaurant in Old Town.
I don't know what new restaurant owners have in mind, but the closed down restaurant Hospitalis, which was located here, went bankruptcy several months ago.
Despite being very well promoted Hospitalis couldn't compete with cheaper restaurants and cafes in Old Town.
Have you ever tried frogs legs? How does it taste like? :)

Studio 69 is not only a night club, but a whole entertainment complex, which includes, different bars, restaurants, casino, hotel.
And on top of that Studio is connected to Rai with its 3 dance floors and hundreds of regular visitors.
Studio 69 has reputation of relatively expensive place for middle and upper-income workers. In fact here are a lot of people just pretending to be rich and the atmosphere of the club is very simulated.
Pros:

• Good music
• A lot of nice looking girls
• Sushi Bar
• Shisha Bar (aka Hookah or water-pipe)
  

Cons:

• A lot of rich people poor in spirit
• Cheap young girls looking for a sponsor (for somebody it could be more pro rather than con :))
  
• Intense gazes, not very friendly atmosphere
  
• Severe Security

Residence building located at Dzelzavas street 70 has long and dramatic history.
Started to be built in very late 80s, then just after Soviet Union collapse, in 1993, the construction got frozen for 11 years.
In 2004 the building was finally built without planned 2 floors. Now it is quite prestigious place to live in.

Since the 1st of May 2004, when Latvia joined EU, all entrances to Latvia has European Union symbolic.
But I couldn't find any Latvian flag at this checkpoint. We are loosing our identity and we are happy about it.

Ambassade de France (Embassy of France) resides in one of the most beautiful buildings in Riga.
This house is a perfect architectural example of Art Nouveau or Jugendstil how it is called more often in Riga.
Actually in the beginning of the last century it was the residence of British Embassy.
Next nearest building is American Embassy, which could play a role of negative for French Embassy.

Railway Bridge over frozen Daugava river.
Skyscrapers buildings of Panorama Plaza at the background are disturbing Pardaugava's flat panorama.
By the way, this view was used in the movie Escape from City 17, the creation of movie was inspired by Half-Life game.

A very nice house can be found at Elizabetes street, in center of Riga.
Statues of two male faces made like looking in different ways of street, watching what is happening around :)
This building like a museum exponent, full of small perfect details.
