Temporary Riga photos are being published not in a regular manner due to blog author has moved to Vilnius.

The
protesters' camp which was pitched in front of Council of Ministers has been demolished this weekend.
The winter photo of
people living on the street was
starred in my blog because visitors were shocked about brave unemployed who decided to live in tent until they will find a job.
The record was reached in February when 12 tents were setup. Last weeks there were only 2 guys who still were living on
Brivibas alley.
At the some point, one of them went to swim in a river, but another left camp to toilet for a couple of minutes. Almost immediately police gabbed all their unattended stuff.
Juris, the guy smocking cigarillo, told me:
Police actions were illegal and this is not the end!Labels: camps, center, events, government, people, persons, politics, poverty, shame

Despite such a
freezing weather (-17°C or 2°F) since several weeks these
people are living in tents in order to protest against current government's actions or more precisely inactions.
The camp of more than 10 tents is based right in front of
Council of Ministers.
In the very beginning it was just one small tent, but the community of desperate people is growing very fast.
They don't care about us...

Parachutist Camp at Griva airfield near Daugavpils city, 230 km from Riga.
Since
Riga skydiving club had moved its dropzone, everyone who would like to jump from a plane has to go to Daugavpils.
A price to get dropped out of the aircraft is 35 Ls (45) EUR, training included :)
BTW, maybe some of you are interested to make
Riga city air tour.

I found
Guntis (54) boiling potatoes on
Akmenu street, next to
LNB future building.
He reluctantly told his tragic story..
Briefly, tens years ago his
wife has gone to another man, but Guntis stayed to live in house legally belonging to wife..
After years all houses near to future
building of LNB were
demolished and legal owners got some compensation.
Of course his wife didn't even think to share the compensation with her ex-husband Guntis, who lived there for more than 30 years :(
See
Pirate as well.
