The Orthodox Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Jelgava looks like a small doll house. The church was built in 1889 in the middle of cemetery, and despite its little size, it can fit 200 parishioners.

Rīgas Sv. It was built in 1878 as separate church for Lutherans living in Sarkandaugava, because before all three major confessions in Riga (Lutheran, Orthodox and Catholic) were meeting in a small wooden church, which was unacceptable for the most of the people living at that time.
Brāļu Kapi (Brothers' Cemetery) is a military cemetery in Ciekurkalns area, which is the last home for more than 2000 soldiers who had fought for the independence of Latvia between 1915 and 1920. Cemetery was officially opened only in 1936, when grand memorial structures and garden decorations were ready.

Pleskodāles Kapi (Pleskodale Cemetery) was established by Martina baznica in 1881 as result of tension with Sveta Jana Baznica for the right to perform requiem service. Before 1881 Marina baznica didn't have that right in order to keep high profit of Sveta Jana Baznica. The cemetery is still active and performing burial of Lutheran and Catholic believers. Apsīšu rūnakmens (Apsites rune stone) located just several kilometers from Rūjiena town. It is one of the oldest memorials in Latvia and dated circa 9th century AD. Runestone is left by Scandinavian vikings visiting these lands for trading with Latvian ancestors.
This lake is a former quarry. Due very close location to Bolderaja Cemetery, the lake contains ptomaine which is dangerous for people. Officials do not recommend swim here, but do not forbid. So people come here anyway, because water in Bolderājas karjers (Bolderaja quarry) is much warmer than in Sea, which is less than 5km from here.
This is Mārtiņa kapi (Cemetery of Martin) in Riga. Most of tombs here were buried more than one hundred years ago. Some of them even 250 years ago. Interesting that writings on tombstones are in German, English, Russian, Hebrew and Latvian language. It shows that Riga was very multicultural city all its history.
