The third extraordinary building design from Any Mann. (Viesnīca in Latvian means Hotel)

How much would you pay for staying in Riga Hotel with such design?
I suppose here is no need for translation or explanation what kind of service you can get by visiting this shop.
A stylish yellow boot, hanging next to this wooden building on Tallinas iela, speaks for itself :)
Shoemaker is quite rare profession in developed world, although in Latvia it is still quite common to bring your old shoes to cobbler in order to repair.

A couple months ago, when I discovered that Stone Bridge has lost its massive chandeliers, I thought that Riga mayor will replace them to some more modern lamps. Although chandeliers were just polished before City Festival, which will be held upcoming weekend.
Bright Colours is the topic of regular Monthly theme and I was too late to take a good photo on time :) For a couple of days I couldn't find in Riga anything brighter than Piena Svetki (Milk Fest), which was held on 1st of August in area next to Piens club. What is Latvian Nokia? This is a new popular expression among people living in Latvia. Sometimes Latvians compare themselves to Fins, who have much stronger economics despite very similar history, natural resources and more or less the same mentality. State and private companies are often hope for a miracle, basically that some of their products or services will bring Latvian economics to much higher level as once Nokia did for Finland. P.S. this is an old Soviet public telephone with dial. Quite rare thing nowadays, though.
Finally, after two years of blogging I have changed overloaded standard blogger design for riga.in I like black color. Black is good, but in the age of Web 2.0 smart websites are usually white :) Screenshot of old design is posted in order to always remember how Riga Daily Photo was with Black Design.
P.S. I rearranged many things, but some layout bugs could still exist. Please feel free to point out anything that looks strange. Thank you.
Alberta iela (Albert street) is one of the most famous streets and sights in Riga because of Art Nouveau style buildings. The street itself was named after Bishop Albert from Bremen, the founder of Riga. Each building on the street is unique peace of art, all of them were built in the beginning of 20th century. Since then Alberta iela became the prestigious place to live or have an office.
Bakery is an untypical club/bar located on Bruninieku iela 73. Electronic music of all kinds could be heard here. Incredible friendly atmosphere, low prices and family design makes this place looking tempting to be visited. It seems that everybody knows each other here, but in fact almost all people came here by chance. Bar menu is unprecedented for Riga. It includes even some drugs, which are not forbidden in Riga yet. Just have a look at this girlish mirror with teddy bears next to toilet :)
Interior of the rich Latvian flat in the beginning of the 20th century. Design is exhibited in the Museum of History of Latvia, which is located inside of Riga Castle.
