Dole was built in 1987 and it is the last shopping center built in Soviet times in Riga. This Kengarags' sight was the hugest shopping complex in Latvia until Alfa Shopping mall get opened in 2001. It is named in honour of the small village Dole, which was completely flooded during building of Riga hydroplant.

Lido Restaurant at Krasta is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Riga. National Latvian cuisine, local own brewing and live music can be found in Lido. It was opened in 1999 and initially was one of the cheapest food place in Riga. Indeed, you could eat as much as you can for 1-2 Lats (3-4 EUR), then times has been changed and Lido became a place with average prices. After the crisis came, Lido was one of the first companies who had reduced their prices, almost in twice.
Krasta masīvs (Krasta Area) is a district around Krasta street, in fact part of Maskavas Forstate. A lot of Soviet apartment buildings, shopping malls are located here.
Šķirotava (Classification yard) is a freight train station found at Kengarags, used to separate railroad cars on to one of several tracks. Depot of Passenger trains in Riga. All passenger train cars in Latvia are painted in orange color, which makes them different wherever they go. In fact, they go only to Russia, Belarus and Ukraine because of Russian gauge. Latvia is not connected directly to Western Europe by railway.
I found this installation in Kengarags neighbourhood. Looks like a wharf, but boats can't moor here, due slip surface going into river. Maybe somebody know what is for facility? :) See comments for answer.
Dienvidu Tilts (South Bridge) was tested last week, actually not the whole bridge, but just some entry junctions. Tens of loaded trucks were used as testing equipment :) I hope the bridge has passed its exam :)
Dienvidu Tilts (South Bridge) is the most expected and the most expensinve project in Riga for the last several years. It will connect Ķengarags neighbourhood with Pārdaugava, more particularly to Ziepniekkalns. It is more important than LNB project and of course not cheaper :) Bridge cost is more than a half billion euro, and the bridge itself is less than 500 meters long.
