The sun in the winter is like a miracle, even if you notice it for a couple of minutes before sunset.

3 Years
I can't believe, it is already 3 years since my first Riga Daily Photo. Kinda success! :)
This year I took not just 365 photos more, but also got new camera with the help of my readers, started to use twitter for instant updates, got interviewed and many other interesting things happened to me because of RDP.
Thank you, my dear visitors for watching this blog and making me keep exploring Riga and surroundings.

Happens

Happens
Usually I don't post photos of traffic accidents, which are more than regular events in Riga.
But in this case, I just curious how driving school car could get there? :)
This picture was observed today on 11. Novembra krastmala during sunset.

Last Weekend

Last Weekend
A bit depressing feeling because of the last weekend of Summer 2010 is about to finish.
No more swimming in sea, short nights, First club, yachting and other stuff which is possible only in summer.
The photo of Riga TV Tower was taken from South Bridge.

Sunset and Sunrise in Imanta

Sunset Sunrise Imanta
The shortest night in Riga is on 23/24 of June, which lasts about 4 hours only. And by the middle of June there is almost no darkness anymore.
These two photos were taken at yesterday evening at 22:00 and today at 5:00 in the morning on Anniņmuižas bulvāris, which is one of the most urbanized streets in Riga.

Old Warehouses

Old Warehouses
There are a lot of old warehouses around Central Market.
Some of them were rebuilt and still are being in use, some of them became night clubs or even art galleries.
But some structures were never renovated and nowadays look like ruins of Ancient Rome.

EF Dambis

Old embankment
EF Dambis (EF Bank) is a made-up name for overgrown strip in Daugava by analogy with AB Dambis. This is the third bank on Daugava river towards the sea.
Raft cafe is part of Fabrikas Restorans, the fancy restaurant in Kipsala.

Evening Market

Evening Market
Few hundreds meters from Riga Central Market, in the area of old warehouses, there is a real Latvian farmer's market.
It opens at sunset, and, I guess, works all night long. Here you can buy healthy products grown in Latvia.

Twilight

Riga at twilight
Riga at twilight, or technically at late sunset.
The moon and the sun could be often observed at the same time in Riga.
Interesting, if it is possible to take picture with both of them in the single frame not using special lens.

Burglars

House of Press is under attack
Don't panic! Nobody lives in this skyscraper. It is former Riga Press House.
For the last 5 years this building is in the queue for demolition, so I have no idea what these people are doing there. But for sure it is not a window cleaning team.

What they were doing in real? Check another photo of Press' building.
