Temporary Riga photos are being published not in a regular manner due to blog author has moved to Vilnius.

Ventspils is the largest port of Latvia, which is located 185km (115mi) Northwest from Riga.
Many regular ferries are departing from here to different regions of Baltic Sea, e.g to Germany, Russia, Sweden.

I came to ghost town Irbene to make a better photo of
Radiotelescope RT-32, but again I was unlucky
The antenna's site was closed, therefore I could take a photo only from remote road, which is not so good again.

Kolka and
Road to Ventspils.

Although this huge-size 32-meter diameter antenna is not located in Riga, it is one of remarkable sights in Latvia.
It was built in 1971 in the Westernmost point of USSR to intercept radio waves over Atlantic.
Another, smaller locator (16-meter in diameter) is located several hundreds meters away.

Now the most breaking news in Latvia is the fire of several tank cars near Ventspils town.
The incident caused by
collision of oil car and benzine car. It is said that 2 dead bodies already found.
The flame of is as big as it can be seen from far distance.
