There is no ski jumping sport in Latvia, at least because there is no any built ski flying hill.
Although in the mid of 1970 there was a project to built a Ski Jumping Hill in Valmiera, but it has never finished.

Limbažu lidlauks is a small operating airfield located 40km NNE from Riga with 400m long asphalt runway.
Take-offs and landings for private planes here is for free.

Ruins of Castle in Cēsis city (80km (50mi) north-eastward from Riga) is one of the most interesting Latvia's sights.
Originally wooden castle was built in 1209, then several times rebuilt and expanded. Nowadays ruins is what is left since Swedish rule in 17 century. Since 1949 a park and The Cesis history museum are located here.

Straupe is a small town on the
road from Riga to Valmiera. It is mostly famous for its Medieval castle nowadays a Narcological clinic, which helps alcoholics and drug addicted get back normal life.

For the past couple days everybody in Latvia was speaking about
Meteorite smashed Latvia country near Mazsalaca, which is about 140km north from Riga.
Recently it was revealed that Meteorite is a hoax made up to attract world attention to Latvia :)
