Roja, a small fisherman town in Kurzeme, has the entrance road sign very similar to the one, which is in Riga.
This photo was made right after photo of mole and before Kolka.
You will never find any other advertisement in the world written in both Latvian and Lithuanian languages except this one, which is located 500 meters away from Latvian-Lithuanian border on Lithuania's side of Via Baltica road.
For a while I couldn't decide where to publish this photo on Riga blog or on Vilnius Photos blog.
Maybe you know Vi Menn, the most popular men's lifestyle magazine in Norway and Scandinavia in general. I didn't know it before they contacted me in order to get copyrights for my photos and publish them along with scandalous article about sex tourism in Latvia.
It was very pleasant to see my Sin City photo at coversheet of Norwegian Playboy, which is being read by more than half a million of people offline every week ;)
New Year after-party in the brand new Riga nightclub RAЙ (Rai), which name could be translated as Paradise. Rai was open few weeks ago in place of the former ultra-popular club La Rocca, which is connected to Studio 69 Apparently Rai is an affiliate of Moscow club with the same name.
Konventa sēta (Convent Yard) aka Konventhof is a quiet area in the middle of Old Town. Formerly it was a fortified area and the residence of the Sword Brothers Brotherhood. On the picture is the wall of the building, which has written chronicles of Konventa seta and Riga
AmPir (Empire style) is the name of the recently opened place on Kalku iela 22. One year before an infamous and expensive Restaurant Nostalgija was located here. Unfortunately I can't tell more about this place for now. Maybe some of the visitors can? Thanks.
I have to announce that I'm also leaving Riga in two weeks and most probably I will discontinue to publish new photos on daily basis very soon. Therefore I kindly ask you, my visitors, maybe somebody has willingness to take and publish pictures of Riga instead of me? If so, please contact me.
فندق ريغا (Hotel Riga) is the name of the hotel in the oldest city of the world - Aleppo, Syria. I wish it would be 5* :) And does anybody know what letter L means? @Valeria, thank you for an interesting photo of Riga signs outside Latvia :)
Aptieka 1 is the largest pharmacy chain in Riga and in Latvia. This particular drug store is located in a interesting eclectic building in Sarkandaudava. Could anybody tell what does the letters АФ on the top mean? Thanks :)
This photo was taken in Bernu Pasaule shopping center, which is almost fully occupied by Gerkens un Partneri, one of the cheapest clothes retailer in Latvia. Cheap retailer doesn't mean that this shop is something like T.K. Maxx or Marshalls, because all products here are one brand only - "Noname" P.S. Bērnu apģērbi in Latvian means Clothes for Kids
Another Monthly Theme came and this time the topic is Graffiti. Again. I couldn't find quickly any really good graffiti in Riga, so I decide to put the bad one :) This type of graffiti is quite regular for Riga blocks, tunnels and industrial areas. This electric box is located inside of the former Phoenix factory territory. Check previous Graffiti Theme Photo or click here to view thumbnails for all participants.
