Great. I feel the smell of pine, which makes winter wood so special.
Beautiful!!!
um, isn't it one of the woods of Latvia where nazis killed jews????????? even not a word about that???????
As tragic as all that was...isn't it time that we should be able to look at a beautiful picture and not have to be reminded of the tragedies of the past? I'm not negating or minimizing the tragedies of the holocaust...I just don't think it need be the center of narrative for a beautiful picture of a natural setting. There are plenty of venues to discuss the horrors of that time...
If you think about it...the moors of Scotland have seen tremendous bloodshed, as did the plains in the United States, Ireland's cities, the forests in all of Europe, the deserts of the Middle East, South America, Russia, where hasn't there been bloodshed of tragic proportions??? Again, my intention is not to minimize the tragedy that occurred, I just don't think it has to be mentioned in every narrative for every picture of any area touched by the holocaust. I honor the survivors, I condemn the perpetrators...this scene did not contribute...it has seen many winters and springs since that time...
No I'm sorry for me it is hard to see and to hear this name without mentioning the killing. Part of my family was killed there.
If we won't mention that, our children wouldn't know about that and it will be forgotten. The last thing that someone who lost a person wants is that the person will be forgotten.
To lighten the mood somewhat I would just like to state that I like my men just like my pine. Tall blond and Baltic.
If however someone can enlighten me as to why its called Baltic pine? How many pine trees did you export?
Beautiful forest with horrible history.Part of my family was murdered here too.And we-children of the survivors-we can't forget it.
