Since a couple of years it is illegal to drive through Dome Square, but many drivers still don't know it and get caught by police, which always is very helpful and show you the right direction, especially if you are sitting behind the wheel of the new expensive car.
A lot of people will consider this photo more than stupid, but I think it perfectly depicts some part of Riga daily life. Half empty bus Nr 3 with passengers. See also Interior of Tram.
A big queue in front of University of Latvia. Now it is the only week during the year, when it is possible to apply for studies in LU. More than 6000 of people are being enrolled during 6 business days.
Akmens tilts (Stone Bridge) is full of cars during rush hour. This is the only Riga bridge where runs Tramway traffic The Bridge was built in the place of old wooden bridge in 1953, which was called Zemgalu tilts. The spike in the middle is the tallest church in Riga Pētera baznīca.
Muzeju nakts (Museum Night) is annual international event, which is being held in many cities worldwide. Riga is taking part in this event several years in a row. Tens of museums and galleries keep their doors open for one night. Tens of thousands people pour out into the city and night Riga looks very lively. I've visited several quite alternative museums during the night and all of them were boring nearly tasteless. Which is your favourite museum in Riga, or which would you recommend to visit?
Ģirts Rozentāls aka Ozols is the most famous rapper in Latvia and, I guess, the most successful. Ozols quickly gained popularity in 1999 with his rap song about Zolik. During his artist carrier he won several Latvian music awards. Nowadays Girts Rozentals owns several shops and works as DJ in Essential Club. Today I couldn't believed my eyes, when I saw Ozols in tram together with his unknown friend, but I would like to help him to make his name taste like ass :)
Passioned cleaner brooming the top of the entrance was caught in early morning in Purvciems Actually, there is no access to this small roof, except small window.
How much of spam do you get daily in your post box? By the way, flats in Latvia are being numbered, unlike as in many other countries, where the surname of flat tenant is being written on top of postbox. Surnames in Latvia are being considered as quite private information. No one likes to make it public.
Last days is so freezing cold in Riga that even Ice fishermen wear special plastic bag to keep warm air inside :) Picture has been taken on Agenskalna licis, on the background are Trinity Church and some1 building.

Zelta Zivtiņas tunelis is a pedestrian tunnel under 13. Janvara street. Named after Zelta Zivtina (Gold Fish) mobile prepayment card, owned by TELE2. A good mural design made this tunnel more lively and colorful, especialliy during grey autumn.

One of the most important Riga meeting points is below this Origo Clock or Origo Tower. Romantic meetings, business meetings, but mostly buying and selling things are happening around this place every minute. This place is very popular among Riga visitors because of this location - next to Central Railway Station.
Passing some auto service (motor vehicle service) in VEF industrial area, I caught the smell of cooking barbecue. Have a nice lunch :) See also barbeque on the beach.

According to the law in Latvia, it is forbidden to smoke in public places. Staircase is public place as well, but nobody observe the laws, except local inhabitants, which are trying to keep order with such notices. After formal text in two languages, there is a text in abusive russian language. It is beyond me to translate that text, but i will try: And who will remove this notice again, will be proper F _ _ KED!!!
Some Rigans can afford themselves to live like in the countryside :) Private gardens like this usually can be seen in distant Riga suburbs like Marupe, Mezhaparks. This one located on Mangalsala. This garden is open, and everybody can come in and steal some good clothes :)

I found Guntis (54) boiling potatoes on Akmenu street, next to LNB future building. He reluctantly told his tragic story.. Briefly, tens years ago his wife has gone to another man, but Guntis stayed to live in house legally belonging to wife.. After years all houses near to future building of LNB were demolished and legal owners got some compensation. Of course his wife didn't even think to share the compensation with her ex-husband Guntis, who lived there for more than 30 years :(
