Good Lock for Good Luck

When somebody is getting married they should put a lock on bridge by tradition.
This tradition means that their union will be strong as the lock they have put.
This small bridge in Riga Center Park get filled with locks every several months.

Just small city which unite :D
that's a very interesting tradition, great photos too
It actually is some kind of (Middle-?)Asian tradition and was introduced only during the last years (some 5 perhaps) by young Russian couples getting married. Some kind of cross-border cultural influence from Russia.
This imported tradition is getting rather irritating, if you ask me. With bridges starting to look something like dumps of rusty scrap metal. I just wonder why the city authorities are not actively fighting this.
