Храм Благовещения Пресвятой Богородицы or Pareizticīgo Sv. Dievmātes pasludināšanas Rīgas baznīca (Riga Orthodox Church of Annunciation of St. Virgin) was built in 1778 as simple wooden building in Moscow suburb of Riga, along with main road to Moscow.
After big fire in 1812 it was rebuilt by the best tradition of the Russian Church and became one of the most important Orthodox church of Riga and remains so up till now.
Because of the holy icon of Nicholas it is called among people as У Николушки (By Nicholas)
Also this church got nickname Market Church, as Central Market is just 5 minutes from here.
