Yellow Church
The full name of this church in is Александро-Невская правосланая церковь in Russian or Sv. Ņevas Aleksandra pareizticīgo baznīca in Latvian, which in English means Alexander Nevsky Church.
It was built in 1825 on Brivibas street (at that time Petersburg road)

I've been in Riga a couple of times in the late 90's but really do not remember this church in yellow. Did they repaint it? Very nice shot.
Recognising the name Alexander Nevsky, but not sure of his place in history, I googled (of course). Now I have a new name to add to My Favourite Names List - and no-one has yet topped BArcelona's Wilfred the Hairy - Alexander's grandfather, Vsevolod the Big Nest.

You show the church off well...the lighting is perfect. I'm assuming this is of the Orthodox variety?
My that is a vibrant yellow. You really wouldn't miss this in a hurry.
