Kipsala Beach was opened for swimming this year. It's located between Cable Bridge and newly created yacht park.
The summer is ending, so don't miss the last chance to enjoy the most urban beach in Latvia :)
This is not April Fools' Day Joke, but a screenshot from Indian movie called Agent Vinod, which was released last year.
Few parts of the movie were filmed in Riga in the 2011 summer and it is worth to see just because of that.
Hot pursuits through Riga streets, epic explosion of Riga Hotel and many other scenes involving Riga sights.

Main office of Danish Danske Bank, previously known as Sampo Bank (which used to be Finnish one).
Danske Banka is one of 25 banks. Interesting fact that there is a ratio of 1 bank per 40,000 residents if Latvia.
It gets even strange if we do compare to neighboring Lithuania, which has 1 bank per 500,000 residents (7 banks in total)

This building is a huge device and serve as center to control electricity supply around the city.

Mildas tirdziņš (Milda's Market) is a recently opened small market next to Central Station. Since its opening in 2009 it is a good place to purchase products made in Latvia.
A nice eclectic building is located on the crossroads of Avotu and Lāčplēša streets. It was built in 1898 as apartment house with stores on the ground floor.
Narvesen is a Norwegian chain of small shops, where you can buy newsletters, some fast food, drinks and all other everyday stuff. There are more than 200 Narvesen shops and kiosks since its entry in 1997 to Latvia. This particular one is located next to Katedrale and is a popular meeting point.
