Kiosk

No, this is not an internet kiosk, but simple newsstand which was very common for Riga in 1990s.
Nowadays it is rarity, and I didn't see any of them in Latvian capital for a while. This one is left in 100km from Riga in a small country town called Dobele.
Writing on top of the kiosk in Latvian Avīzes - Žurnāli means Newspapers - Magazines

why rarity, still plenty of them seen in riga..
Really. Why rarity? They are all over the place.
Or did you mean "the owner company "Preses Apvieniba"? Maybe then. It used to be "Soyuzpechat" "(Soviet Press Agency), and was renamed, after country regained independence, into "Preses Apvieniba" ("Press Association"). Originally it was the only, and later the largest distributor of magazines and newspapers.
Now its place is taken by "Narvessen" who, I believe, signed a contract with the state about taking over the agency.
There are other networks of kiosks like "Plus Punkts", similar but, seems, smaller.
