This condominium is the last real estate project started in Soviet Union and eventually finished just right after USSR's collapse. At the moment of completion here were located the most expensive apartments in Riga outside of Old Town. Thick brick walls, panoramic views, great location, all these are the features of condo located on Anninmuizas bulvaris 28.

Imanta Community Center is the official home of cultural life in Imanta neighbourhood, if such does exist :) It is exhibition center, concert hall and the cinema at the same time.
Just 2 months ago this shopping center in Imanta was called Wellness because of the gym inside of it. Although recently the gym was bought by Atlētika health club chain, hence it has changed its name. The area around Atletika gym will be still called as Wellness area, some time of course.
Dammes iela (formerly Sergeja Ļuļina iela) is one of the main streets in Imanta neighbourhood. The street was open in Soviet times and initially named after Soviet hero, the aviator Sergey Lulin.
Metropolia is a complex of 5 elite apartment building located in Imanta 3 across Solaris complex. It was finished in 2007, just before crisis started and hence could be considered as successful :)
iki is another cheap Lithuanian retail shop, like Maxima. The legend says that iki in Lithuanian means bye :) This shop is located next to tramway 4 terminal station, a very strategic point of Imanta neighbourhood, hence it has changed many owners and names during past 20 years. For example the area around shop is still nicknamed after former shop name Nelda.
The shortest night in Riga is on 23/24 of June, which lasts about 4 hours only. And by the middle of June there is almost no darkness anymore. These two photos were taken at yesterday evening at 22:00 and today at 5:00 in the morning on Anniņmuižas bulvāris, which is one of the most urbanized streets in Riga.
Kurzemes prospekts (Kurzeme avenue) is a huge street around the whole Imanta neighbourhood. Together with Jurmalas gatve the Kurzemes prospekts forms a regular pentahedron. Illuminated at night 120-meters tall chimney belongs to Imanta heating plant. Plant was built in 1975.
I guess such name fits better to some adult movie or might be even used as subject in spam email. Maxima is Lithuanian supermarket chain with the worst brand naming strategy.
Recently built high rise apartment buildings in Imanta are still scarcely populated. Because of economic crisis in Latvia only few who can afford to buy luxury apartments in Riga Solaris with orange front sells flats for 900 EUR per square meter and higher. A little bit further standing Metropolia complex is in two times more expensive, the prices in Metropolia start from 2000 EUR per square meter.
Jūrmalas gatve (Jurmala highway) is the road which together with Riga - Jurmala Railway makes the border between Zolitude and Imanta suburbs. Basically, this old road connecting Riga to Jurmala resort town. Nowadays, Kārļa Ulmaņa gatve (Karlis Ulmanis highway) is more used for that purpose.
Many neighborhoods in Riga are divided in even smaller parts. They are named with ordinal numbers. Imanta 5 is the fifth and the last section of big Imanta area, located on West Bank. The main sight of Imanta 5 is the former big store Jūra (means Sea) depicted on photo. Close to Jura store is Imanta Station.
Imanta Stacija (Imanta Station) is a station on the railway between Riga and Jurmala. The Station located between two suburbs Imanta and Zolitude. The station building built in the end of 19 century, when the railway to Jurmala was just finished.
